After your Colorado Springs moving company has pulled out of the driveway, you might be in the mood to get out of the house to check out your new city. If you want to pack up the family for a good time, here are our top suggestions for local places to visit:
1. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo: Ranked #3 out of 73 attractions in Colorado Springs on Trip Advisor, this expansive zoo is settled on 146 acres and is home to over 800 animals of different varieties. Get a bird’s eye view of the zoo on the Mountaineer Sky Ride or ride up to watch the sun go down on Cheyenne Mountain. Visit their website to learn more.
2. Paint the Town: Want to play artist for a day? Stop by Paint the Town, for some family friendly art lessons. And, while you’re at it – check out their events calendar for summer classes including, “paint or dog or cat day” or “groovy hippy day.”
3. Seven Falls: Included in the National Geographic’s list of International Waterfalls, this must-see site is only about a mile hike to the foot of the falls. Perfect for the whole family, you can enjoy the best view of the waterfall by taking the mountain elevator or 224-step stairway to the Eagle’s Nest Observation platform. Park also includes picnic areas, hiking trails and restrooms.
