by Admin 20. March 2012 08:34

When relocating with the help of a Moving Company, you should encourage your family to make the most of this transition period and enjoy the endeavor together. Among the best ways to make moving a memorable experience is taking family photographs and video footage, giving everyone something positive to look back on when they're settled in the new house. Here are three online retailers that can help you document the journey.

Overstock.com

Ideal for consumers and professionals alike, Overstock.com offers a wide range of digital cameras and equipment at affordable prices. Not only do you have a handful of categories to choose from, but you can also select a desirable price range.

Apple

If you want to take the next step in becoming a master photographer, you should invest in an Apple PC or laptop. Although the price may be a little higher, you'll know why when you see how crystal-clear the screen is. The world's trendiest technology retailer offers a wide variety of photo and video editing software - such as iPhoto, iMovie and Final Cut Pro - that serious documentarians can't live without.

Best Buy

If all you need is a video camera and necessary accessories, BestBuy.com might be the best place to look. By navigating the camcorders section, you'll have access to some of the most popular brand names in the field, such as Kodak, Sony, Samsung and Canon.

Tax Tip #2: Your Moving Expenses Could be Tax Deductible

by Admin 11. November 2010 09:10

If you are moving for a job, you could be able to deduct your moving expenses (not including meals). According to the IRS, there are two tests that must be satisfied in order for your situation to be considered.

  • The distance test: Your new job must be at least 50 miles farther from your old home than your old job was from your old home. See details: http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc455.html
  • The time test: If you are an employee, you must work full-time for at least 39 weeks during the first 12 months right after you arrive in the general area of your new job. If you are self-employed, you must work full time for at least 39 weeks during the first 12 months and for a total of at least 78 weeks during the first 24 months after you arrive in the general area of your new work location. See details: http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc455.html
