Top 3 Fourth of July Events to Enjoy after Moving to Boston

Boston, Massachusetts, is known for its Irish heritage, prominent historic landmarks and New England architecture. If you're planning to hire a reliable team of Boston movers, there are three Fourth of July Events you simply can't avoid.

  1. The illustrious Inner Harbor district is cozily nestled along the Boston Bay. This is an area you must visit if you're new to the city, especially when cultural festivities are planned. You can take advantage of this charming location during the annual Harborfest 2012, which takes place during the last week of June and first week of July. This festival is full of colonial era exhibits, military reenactments from the Revolutionary War, live performances, downtown tours and food vendors. This event persists over the course of three days, beginning with an opening ceremony on June 28. There will be a party on the plaza throughout June 30, followed by a Chowderfest celebration on Sunday, July 1.
  2. If you're avidly interested in history and military endeavors, you might want to take advantage of the War of 1812 Bicentennial Celebration, which is a gathering of Navy ships and military officials that will take place from June 28 to July 4. This event will feature an air show by the Navy's Blue Angels team, which will fly right over the downtown area between the days of June 30 and July 6.
  3. When the big holiday arrives, you should take your family to the Esplanade on the Charles River for the Boston Pops concert and fireworks spectacular, which is a nationally televised event that consists of classical music, military drumrolls and authentic cannon fire. The concert itself begins at 8:30 p.m., while the fireworks commence at 10:30 above the river. Best of all, the admission is free for both shows.
