When one thinks of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, one often calls to mind a blustery, snowy winter wonderland with three feet of snow on the ground and layers upon layers of fleeces and coats. That would be doing the city a disservice, as Milwaukee summers are mild, charming and full of fun events for the whole family. Once you've settled into your new home with the help of a cross country moving company, check out some of these exciting events.

1. Summerfest bills itself as the "World's Largest Music Festival" and it's not difficult to see why. With over 700 bands and musical acts scheduled to play, the 45th Anniversary of one of Milwaukee's cornerstone summer events promises to be bigger than ever. Set against a beautiful backdrop of Lake Michigan and downtown Milwaukee, this year's lineup will include such musical luminaries and stars as the Steve Miller Band, The Roots, ZZ Top and Chicago.
2. The Milwaukee Air and Water Show is Milwaukee's largest free event for the general public and a great show to take the whole family to. Held at Bradford Beach, the show will feature a whole host of demonstrations from the U.S.Navy Seals, the Air Force, and the Marine Corps. This year's show will have even more special meaning due to it being part of the nationwide bicentennial celebrations of the War of 1812.
3. The 27th Annual Cedarburg Strawberry Festival will attract hordes of fruit-seeking crowds, as families flock to enjoy the fresh home-grown strawberries provided by local grower Schmit's Berry Farm. With a deluge of delicious strawberry based delicacies available for purchase, festival-goers can indulge all their fruit cravings. Live music and a kids section, featuring pony rides, bouncy castles and a petting zoo, will ensure that the whole family is entertained.
