Tips for Traveling With Children Part II

by Admin 16. August 2012 03:59

When you and your interstate movers make your way to your new home, there are a few preparations you might want to make to ensure the ride goes smoothly. Here are a few more helpful tips for a successful road trip with the little ones.

Utilize Technology

Wired.com suggests that when you travel with toddlers, you let them indulge in technology that may be forbidden in large intervals. You may want to download a movie via iTunes that they can watch on your iPad or smartphone. This will buy you a few hours of them being occupied.

Plan for a Slower Pace

Driving with toddlers may take longer than it would if it was just you and your partner. Children might require more bathroom breaks and they might get car sick. If that's the case, you may want to inform your moving company that you'll be going a little slower than usual and you also should start out earlier to make up for lost time.

Comfort is Key

To curb any potential complaints, you should try to make your little ones as comfortable as you can throughout the trip. If they get cold easily, pack a few extra blankets. Seat belts can also get uncomfortable, so you might want to invest in a seatbelt pad that goes on the strap and keeps it from digging in.

Bring a Onesie

Wired.com also recommends having your toddlers wear onesie pajamas when they travel. The novelty will add a little excitement to the venture, and if there is a car sickness accident, it'll be easy to change them.
