What to Include in Your Roadside Emergency Kit

by Admin 27. August 2012 08:29

Cross country moving can put a toll on your vehicle, and while a proper inspection before your trip can help prevent you from breaking down, it's always a good idea to be prepared. Here are a few things that you want to have in your car in case you become stranded on the side of the road.

Flares of Roadside Triangle

If you break down at night, it's imperative that you have something to alert passing drivers that you are on the side of the road in order to avoid an accident. The best method is to get reflective triangles or use roadside flares to indicate your position.

Blanket

If you experience engine problems and are without heat, you'll need a blanket to keep warm. You might want to purchase one at your local outdoor activities vendor that is made for colder temperatures and has insulating properties.

Spare Tire Kit

Having a flat tire can derail your plans, but with the proper training and the right tools you can get back on the road in no time. Consider asking someone with some car knowledge to teach you to change a tire before your trip, and make sure you also have a jack and tire iron as well.
