If your cross country moving venture is on a tight schedule, you can shave precious hours or even days off your trek by following these few simple tips.

Bring Food
You can save several hours throughout the course of your trip by eliminating lengthy restaurant visits. Bring a cooler filled with sandwiches, fruits, veggies and healthy beverages like fruit juice to give you energy.
Eliminate Bathroom Breaks
Frequently having to stop to use the restroom can derail your efforts to quickly arrive at your new home. To eliminate this problem, try to use the restroom as you stop for gas, and if you're with children, encourage them to do the same. You also may want to avoid consuming too many diuretic foods such as oats, herbs and excessive coffee intake.
Enlist a Driving Partner
If you're with another adult who is familiar with the route, take turns driving so you don't have to spend time and money at a hotel. Sleep while you're not driving so you'll be ready to take the wheel when it's your turn.
Inspect Your Car
Breaking down on the side of the road can also cause you to lose hours or even days. Have your car inspected before you leave and make sure you have a spare tire in the trunk.
