Tips for Moving Books

by Admin 7. September 2012 08:47

Before your trusted movers begin loading all of your belongings into the truck, it's a good idea to make sure that your books are properly packed so they don't suffer any wear and tear on the journey to your new home. Here are a few tips for moving your literature.

Biggest to Smallest

As you load your books in boxes, make sure the large ones go on the bottom and that each succeeding one is either of equal or smaller size. This will allow your books to stay neatly stacked in their containers and prevent any creasing of the pages or dust covers.

Seal the Boxes

You should seal the boxes that your books are in to prevent them from falling out. If a book lands awkwardly, it might crease the pages or get irremovable dirt on the text. Pick up a roll of moving tape and start sealing the top and bottom.

Humidity Control

According to USouthAl.edu, cooler environments allow books to last longer. If your moving trip is going to last an extended period of time, you might want to keep some of your prized books in your air-conditioned car.
